Punjab Medical Technical & General Educational Society, Patiala was founded in the Year 1998 with the view to serve the community in the field of education & particularly medical education i.e. too in ayurveda with its founder president Dr. S.L. Arora, M.D.(Ayu.). In the year 2000 the society started a college in paramedical sciences at Patiala but the inspiration was beyond this venture. In the year 2003 the management decided to establish an Ayurved Medical College and therefore aspired to start OPDs in Sri Ganganagar in the year 2004. The admissions to BAMS course could not be made in 2005-06, may it be the sweet will of the Almighty. The dream for admissions to this course came true in the year 2008 when the Ministry of Health & family welfare, Department of AYUSH (Govt. of India) granted us permission to start BAMS course with an intake capacity of 50 students and Dr. S.R. Rajasthan Ayurved University Jodhpur affiliated our college on the permission of the Govt. of Rajasthan. Now there is an intake of 60 students since 2016. The college meets all the requirements as per the norms laid down by the NCISM, New Delhi and shall follow all the norms, guidelines and curriculum prescribed by NCISM. This was the result of the hard work put in jointly for this purpose by the members of the society under the guidance of founder president Dr. S.L. Arora.
The college is situated in Morjandkhari village on Sri Ganganagar-Hanumangarh Road, the state highway Sri Ganganagar- Jaipur and is spread over in 10.75 Acres. There is double story building having about 1,10,000 Sq.Ft. covered area. The best facilities have been provided in the class rooms, common room and play grounds. The laboratories are equipped with all ultramodern facilities. Our library is well stocked with a collection of about 12500 books with the seating capacity for 60 students. There are about 700 species and plants in the herbal garden which is spread over in about 1½ acres. One project of AYUSH department for herbal garden is in progress with the title Herbal Garden Development under Promotional Activities.
In the hospital, the wards are maintained with 60 beds along with other necessary facilities. The hospital is also well equipped with the latest ultra modern diagnostic facilities such as pathology lab, X-ray, ECG, labour room, Operation Theater, Panchkrama, Kharshutra & other mini operation theaters. The Panchkrama Department is well equipped with ultra modern facilities. The college is also serving the defense personals in 56 APO, Sadhuwali Cantonment (Sri Ganganagar) by providing the free services of Doctors in their Amogh Ayurved Clinic (OPD).
The girls’ hostel with the ultra-modern facilities has been constructed to accommodate 100 students with the covered area approximately 35000 Sq. Ft.
The new boys hostel has been constructed with the ultra-modern facilities in the Morjandkhari Village near by the bus stand with the capacity to accommodate 40 students.
There is hard working faculty/ staff who is putting all efforts for the welfare of the students, to depart modern education for good results so that the college may earn name & fame. The students are not only provided with good education but also encouraged to become good human beings & sports persons. The faculty who is interested to remain in the campus is provided with free accommodation, electricity & water etc.
Our Endeavour is to provide quality education/ research in ayurveda to the students. Acharaya Ramdev Ji has brought a great revolution in the field of Yoga and ayurveda and our dream is to go even beyond that and to serve the humanity with great zeal and dedication.
